Frequently Asked Questions for Private Events

The average price range is from about $1,000 – $2,500. To hold and reserve your private event date requires a $150 deposit and a signed proposal. The final payment is due at the conclusion of your event.

We can host any type of special event such as bridal showers, baby showers, anniversary parties, celebrations of life, private workshops, graduation parties, family reunions, birthday parties, or just simply a get-together with friends.

We have four different buildings for private events, each with their own room charge, and each one can accommodate a different number of guests. The Hog House can accommodate up to 25 guests, the Corn Crib & Patio can accommodate up to 35 guests, the Milking Parlor & Overhang can accommodate up to 60 guests and the Canopy is for larger gatherings accommodating up to 200 guests. You may choose the building you’d like to use, but if you are hosting a small group in one of our larger spaces, food minimums do apply.

We require a minimum of 25 guests to host a private event at Southern Exposure Gardens. You may still host an event with less than 25 guests, but the minimum food charge will be for 25.

Your private event reservation is for a total of 4 hours. If you have any additional decorative items you’d like to use, you may arrive one hour prior to your event start time (this is part of your total 4 hour reservation). All additional items need to be packed up and removed by the end of the reserved time. Most private events naturally conclude in 2 ½ to 3 hours. However, if needed, you may extend your reservation time for an additional $250 per hour.

While we do have table centerpieces and other décor in each of our buildings that are part of your event reservation, you are more than welcome to bring in your own centerpieces and décor to make your event unique and special to you.

Yes, we have a licensed kitchen and provide catering for all events. We have a variety of delicious options to choose from or we can create a custom menu. We can also accommodate for dietary and allergy restrictions. We do not allow outside catering, but you are able to bring in cake or other desserts from a commercial bakery.

Yes, we hold a Class C Liquor license which enables us to provide full bar service for your private event. Bar service including beer and wine requires a $100 minimum charge and bar service including beer, wine, and select spirits requires a $250 minimum charge. Bar service for private events held on Sunday begins at 12:00 pm. Only alcohol purchased by Southern Exposure Gardens through licensed distributors is permitted due to state regulations of liquor license holders.
